I Thought I was supposed to add my regular e-mail address when downloading my Messenger. Now My Identity has my e-mail address for a name. If I change my Mess. Iden., it won't change my e-mail address will it?I need to change my Identity for my Yahoo Messenger. Can someone please tell me how?
You go to messenger and it says contact details click that and put what you want (example: first name:lala middle name:cocoa last name:hi. itll show up as lala cocoa hi.

If you are using SBC global as well as Verizon as your Internet service providers and there may be others it will automatically show your name plus the e-mail address. You can easily change this by creating a new public profile.
EDIT/CREATE NEW PUBLIC PROFILE
You can create 6 new public profiles (aliases or sub accounts) for each Yahoo ID. At the top of Yahoo Messenger click on the Messenger Menu and then My Profiles. (clicking yes when the little box pops up asking you if you want to be signed in automatically to yahoo websites will by make it so you won檛 have to sign in again) Then a box will appear...click on Create/Edit Profiles and on the yahoo member directory page sign in at the top and then you can click on View My Profiles on the right This will take you to a new window and you can click the button that says Create New Public Profile.
Make sure to save your changes once you do. Now exit yahoo messenger (right click yahoo icon by clock and choose exit and then relaunch Yahoo Messenger. When you go to join a room sureyou will see a drop down menu by your name with your profile names for that main account and you can chat with one of those new profile names. You can also choose the profile name for IM windows too.
