When I was still 12 or so, I had a best friend, one of the best in the world. We were both goofy, funny, cheerful and energetic. We were both very, very happy with each other. Steps for Changing the Name of an Adult in Texas
(Note: Changing the name of a child is a different process.)
Step 1. Read the Law.
Read the Texas name change law in sections 45.101 to 45.106 in the Texas Family Code. You can find the law in a law library or online at www.capitol.state.tx.us/statutes/fatoc.h…
Step 2. Get these two forms.
1. Original Petition for Change of Name of an Adult. This is the form you complete to ask the court for a name change. It must be signed in front of a notary.
2. Order Granting Change of Name of an Adult. This is the form the judge signs to approve the name change.
Step 3. Fill out both forms EXCEPT FOR THE SIGNATURES.
a. After you fill out the Petition (except for the signature), go to step 4.
b. Fill out the Order so that it will be ready for the judge’s signature.
c. When filling out both the Petition and the Order, use your current name is as it appears now on your birth certificate or your social security card.
Step 4. Sign the Petition in front of a notary. DO NOT SIGN THE ORDER.
Once you have signed the Petition in front of a Notary Public, it becomes a “Verified Petition.” A Verified Petition is the same as a “notarized Petition.” Notaries usually charge a few dollars to notarize a Petition.
[In Travis County, a notary is stationed on the first floor of the courthouse and the charge is three dollars.]
Step 5. Have your fingerprints taken and staple the finger print card to your Verified Petition.

At the county courthouse, ask at the Clerk’s Office when and where you need to go to court so that the judge may sign the order approving your name change. In some counties, you may need to pick up your file at the Clerk’s Office and take it to court
Step 9. In court, wait for your cause number to be called.
When you enter the courtroom, check in with the Court clerk (usually seated next to the judge’s bench). When called, approach the judge’s bench. If you are sworn in, the judge may ask you questions. Be prepared to answer the judge’s questions truthfully and briefly. Address the judge as “Your Honor.” You may also tell the judge that the Petition is “verified” so that you may not have to give testimony.
Step 10. The judge will or will not sign the Order.
If the judge does not sign the Order, your name will not change. If the judge does sign the order, move on to the next step.
Step 11. File the signed Order in the District Clerk’s Office and request your Change of Name Certificate.
The change of name certificate serves as proof that the person named in the certificate has been granted a name change. A certified copy of the court order will also serve as proof of the name change.
Step 12. The Clerk’s Office stamps the Order signed by the judge.
Your name has now been changed. You may also request a certified copy of the signed and stamped Order. Pay the fee for the certified copy. I am 22 years old and a feminist (meaning I am all for equal rights, not a man hater like some people think feminism means). I've always struggled with the concept of how to do last names for marriage. I am not anywhere near marriage but need to settle this in my mind.
The evolution of the ideas I've had...
1. Keep my last name.
Seems logical. However, a college professor pointed out (who was a female who changed her last name to her husband's, making her biased) that the last name I have now is a male name and even changing to my mother's maiden name wouldn't work because again, that was her mother's father's name.
2. Hyphenating.
Seems kind of complicated, awkward and too long. Just a mash up of your names. I'm really not a fan of this one but maybe it's the most egalitarian. What would kids of mine do though?
3. Create a new last name entirely.
This is the best I can come up with right now. But I wonder if I have kids and say I have one boy and one girl. What if the boy married a woman...wouldn't be fair for her to take his last name. Wouldn't want him to necessarily change his identity to her last name, although that does seem to be the most fair considering women are the ones having the babies. Otherwise everyone has to create new last names every time....seems too complicated.

Hopefully he will see that you are willing to meet him halfway, so he should do the same. Point out that marriage is all about compromises, and that this will be the first of many that you two will have to make together. Good luck!

I need to do this using the quotient, pythagorean, and reciprocal identities. I have changed sin^2(x) to 1+cos^2(x), and done the same to cos^2(x). Where can I go from here?

I've always embraced the idea that I don't have the answers, and that no one path seems to have the answers I'm looking for. Instead, I've found them randomly scattered within other contexts, and put them into a more cohesive form that seems to work. Change is what has made that possible. And reasearch. Lot's and lot's of research. I've definitely noticed changes in myself and in the nature of my path that came through that process.
It would be strange if I didn't change, based on all of that. And, kind of funny that you should mention it...
I'm in a mirky place compared to where I've started. I'm on the precipice of some big changes based on experiences I can't quite rectify. My comfortable Pantheist/Archetypal shoes don't quite fit anymore, and I'm sincerely confused. But... the Erisian in me embraces it. I may not get it now, but it's good for me. In the long run. Spiritually I think I have always been a pagan, it was a long journey to discover there was a word for what I believed. I discovered Wicca when I was 20, studied for a few years... realised it wasn't for me. When I was young, I was a rebel, and didn't have the patience or tolerance for any form of organised religion.
I have always loved and been drawn to the religions of my people, the Celts and the Norse, and I think my gypsy blood is what originally drew me to the Craft. But I find as I grow older, it is the religion of Kemet that I find the most appealing. Pagans/Heathens: Have you changed your religious identity?
I have always identifed myself as a traditional Wiccan/ Pagan according to the information I have gotten from a study of the old tribes of Europe.I have never considered myself Neo-Pagan and never will.I follow a strictly Pre-English ,Pre-Christian form of Wicca and have only reenforced my beliefs through the cultural study of the Celts of Old Britain.I do not appologize for my views and info and do not compromise my practice except to the point of adapting to modern man law (to avoid prison) and not promoting certain old practices that could be dangerous to my students or myself due to the society we live in. How do i get guy friends?
like one of my friends is awesome with guys as just friends like all the guys like her(as a friend) and r cool with her and i just want some guy friends too like guys who will come and talk to me and all but i dont want to be like my friend and change my identity i just want them to like me and want to be my friend for me

I always had more guy friends than girl friends growing up because I wasn't a girly girl, liked sports, cars...more guy type stuff. I still tend to make friends easier with men than with women. Basically, if you have common interests with guys, it makes you easy for them to talk to, and they find it easier to be themselves and relax. Guys find it hard to be friends with girls that are %26quot;high maintenance%26quot;. Girls that have nothing more to talk about than hair, makeup, nails, and the latest gossip will never find themselves with many male friends.

I used to be extremely fearful about many things all the time and eventually it made me very sick. If you want to be free and feel no more of the fear or worry that you've been experiencing again... then trust in God. (Give your fear and what is making you afraid to Him. If you put all your %26quot;fear%26quot; in God, it can't be anywhere else, because you trust in Him. Let HIM take care of it ((and you)).

I do have to warn you that secrets eventually do come out, but that is only because the person trusted someone. Don't tell anyone a thing, not even in a confessional. Oh and don't put it in writing. I think you need some counseling, but please dont' go to religious counseling; they will only try to further push their own agenda on you. It will take time and patience, but realizing you need help is the first step (cliche, I know, but true).

I'm sorry you went through that. However, there are books and studies which show that it is very rare, if ever, that gay people can change their orientation. It seems to me that people who suggest you haven't sincerely tried are just trying to make themselves feel better about their beliefs. Get some counseling (not religious) and consider joining a fairly civilized gay group, like a book discussion group. You should know by now that being gay is not just about sex; you need to connect with the person in other ways. I believe that when you honestly want Jesus to give you the strength to change you need to lay the burden at the alter and never look back. You say you fought with religion for 20 years but I didn't hear that you entirely gave up the burden. I am sure you must be completely horrified at what you are going through, wanting %26quot;love%26quot; yet knowing it is wrong Biblically. I encourage you to please read your Bible over and over, find solace in Him and ask Him to direct you to the specific scriptures you yearn for to help direct and develop your emotional and spiritual paths. The abuse you speak about could have very well set the path of this burden for you I am sure you know. At the same time you can seek private spiritual counsel to address these childhood horrors and prayerfully that will change your whole outlook. I'm sorry you've gone through so much. It sounds like you need to see a good, supportive therapist to help you work out your problems. I can understand if you want to remain private about your sexuality. I'm straight myself, but I would imagine that the flamboyant %26quot;gay pride%26quot; stuff probably isn't for all gays and lesbians.
I honestly believe that people are born with the predisposition to be gay. Many argue that homosexuality is unnatural, but it has been found in dogs, cats, sperm whales, tsetse flies, and yes, human beings. Perhaps God did intend for some life forms to be attracted to members of the same sex.

Before you can find love you need to deal with the issues of your past, you can't move forward until you have dealt with the past.
If you were abused as a child this may have given you feeling towards your own sex, only you and a consular can answer this.
Changing your life all the time is a way of getting away from the past, but your past goes with you where ever you go and all of your escaping will only lead you back to where you are now, trying to deal with your homosexual feelings.
But please get the help the you need, when a vast amount of therapy is the only thing that can help you, then if you, when you are of a clear mind you can find God, and i think he will love you no matter what religion or sexuality you are.
You don't have to out and proud if you don't want to be, sexuality isn't a big issue, it doesn't define who you are its just how you feel right living your life, and i am sure you will meet a man that has the same perspective as you on gay pride.

I think you need some counseling, but please dont' go to religious counseling; they will only try to further push their own agenda on you. It will take time and patience, but realizing you need help is the first step (cliche, I know, but true).

I'm sorry you went through that. However, there are books and studies which show that it is very rare, if ever, that gay people can change their orientation. It seems to me that people who suggest you haven't sincerely tried are just trying to make themselves feel better about their beliefs. Get some counseling (not religious) and consider joining a fairly civilized gay group, like a book discussion group. You should know by now that being gay is not just about sex; you need to connect with the person in other ways. I believe that when you honestly want Jesus to give you the strength to change you need to lay the burden at the alter and never look back. You say you fought with religion for 20 years but I didn't hear that you entirely gave up the burden. I am sure you must be completely horrified at what you are going through, wanting %26quot;love%26quot; yet knowing it is wrong Biblically. I encourage you to please read your Bible over and over, find solace in Him and ask Him to direct you to the specific scriptures you yearn for to help direct and develop your emotional and spiritual paths. The abuse you speak about could have very well set the path of this burden for you I am sure you know. At the same time you can seek private spiritual counsel to address these childhood horrors and prayerfully that will change your whole outlook. Abuse is a terrible sin and I am sure you endured a lot. In the same regard I know you know that homosexuality is the same - a sin. Jesus tells us to love the sinner and hate the sin, true, but in the same regards I believe that once we are cognizant of the sin we should immediately do our best to abstain, i.e., lay it on the alter. I'm sorry you've gone through so much. It sounds like you need to see a good, supportive therapist to help you work out your problems. I can understand if you want to remain private about your sexuality. I'm straight myself, but I would imagine that the flamboyant %26quot;gay pride%26quot; stuff probably isn't for all gays and lesbians.
I honestly believe that people are born with the predisposition to be gay. Many argue that homosexuality is unnatural, but it has been found in dogs, cats, sperm whales, tsetse flies, and yes, human beings. Perhaps God did intend for some life forms to be attracted to members of the same sex.

I want to argue the fact that many girls in Canada are forced to marry against their free will. Arranged marriages, in my opinion, cannot possibly offer independence, love and freedom. How do i deal with this paranormal?
please give me advice. my grown adult sister has been acting posessed.shes an adult over 18, so am i.
her personality changed severely, her voice is changed.the tone and pitch are not how they used to be, she began to mumble and have stuttering problems, her reality and identity changes.she cannot recall basic detailed facts on herself,things strangers would not know.

she stares with a blank empty stare into space and she cant remember basic facts on me such as my age and middle name.she cant recall things i know she would know like stuff about the house we grew up in, family events, religous things and traditions in our family religous activity,books she read, her favorite actor, foods she used to find repulsive she now eats in bulk.her entire identity is changed and she knows nothing that a close friend or family member would know about her, she only knows as much as a stranger or aquaintance would know about her.

she has an odd resistance to fire. she puts her hands in flames and they dont hurt or burn
she followed me in a violent fit she had and she had the satanic stare i was scared of weeks earlier, she had this disturbed really angry stare on her face,nothing ive seen before on a human. this really mean stare and she kept staring at me and cornered me at the doorway and faced me staring and i felt a large hand shove me to the back and then down. i felt my feet sliding backwards and hear the rubber of my shoes squeeking against the kithchen flooring. thats not possible to do on my own. and i was shoved hard that i was pushed to the floor and ended up on the floor. she stood there smirking and continuing to stare with the most odd and meanest stare ive ever seen.i screamed loud for her to go away and i ordered her to leave and she finally went away.
i put some salt on the threshold and she didnt come back the rest of the night
i was so scared, her eyes turned black, then she shoved me with just staring at me with the scary unnatural mean stare
also her eyebrows did something odd, she came to me smirking and trying to creep me out and harras me.. she told me to look at her face and her eyebrows went straight up vertically up and down ive never seen that on a human and minutes later she wanted to show me more, she kept following me and threatening violence if i didnt look at her face and her eyes were so strange and the white part of her eyes glowed a white glow, not the iris just the white.. it was so scary and ive never seen the look on her face on a human it was a scary disturbed evil look, a really mean look if you try ti picture it.
so dont believe me if you dont but im scared out of my wits and dont know what to do because thats not normal for her to be following me around and fgor me to be shoved by an entity or for her to make disturbing face and her eyes to turn black and many shades of the natura colors and glow

i am scared because she tells me she wants me soul and goes after me specificallyt and becomes violent to me and she repeats personal things on me such as nightmares i have, daydreams, my personal thoughts and conversations i have. she has no way to know any of this and she repeats this stuff to me word by word exactly how it is.
she tells me she controls me and things, she predicts things and they happen,. she predicted my grandmother would get hurt and she had a smile on her face when talking about it and weeks later my grandm,other had a heart attack and my sister jumped for joy and got really happy and smiling after she found out what happened, she then followed it by degrading my grandparents and talking bad about them.
she was not sad one bit.

she followed me in a violent fit she had and she had the satanic stare i was scared of weeks earlier, she had this disturbed really angry stare on her face,nothing ive seen before on a human. this really mean stare and she kept staring at me and cornered me at the doorway and faced me staring and i felt a large hand shove me to the back and then down. i felt my feet sliding backwards and hear the rubber of my shoes squeeking against the kithchen flooring. thats not possible to do on my own. and i was shoved hard that i was pushed to the floor and ended up on the floor. she stood there smirking and continuing to stare with the most odd and meanest stare ive ever seen.i screamed loud for her to go away and i ordered her to leave and she finally went away.
i put some salt on the threshold and she didnt come back the rest of the night

Later, the story moves to the town Vigo and finally Paris. The stories continue through the mid 1800s to show the Paris uprisings. There are several characters in the story. The main character is Jean Valjean. Valjean changes his identity several times to protect himself. He has three main identities: Jean Valjean, Father and Monsieur Madeleine, and Monsieur Fauchelevent. Each time his identity changes, he tries to live more honestly. It also includes Fantine, a woman who loses her job and resorts to prostitution to care for her daughter Cosette.
The story deals with man versus society. During this period of time, the rich were very rich and the poor people were extremely poor because the rich did not have enough compassion for the poorer people. This is the dilemma Jean Valjean finds himself in. Jean Valjean is arrested for stealing bread to feed his family. Instead of having compassion on Jean, they throw him into prison. After nineteen years, he is released from prison and finds that no one wants to give him a place to stay because he is an ex-convict. Bishop Myriel gives Valjean a place to stay. Even after this kindness, Valjean steals from the bishop. Valjean feels ashamed and there is the internal plot where Valjean wants to be kind and good like the bishop.
The climax of the story is when Parisians get tired of the way they are being treated by the government. They become tired of being poor and the government not helping them at all. The death of Lamarque, a general who supported their cause, is the inciting incident that caused the people to have the courage to start a revolution. Marius is one of the Parisians that support the Revolution and he is wounded in battle. Marius is in love with Cosette, Jean Valjean檚 adopted daughter. He had sent a love note to her before the battle began which proves to Jean that he is a faithful man for his daughter. So Jean helps his daughter檚 lover in battle. When Marius gets wounded in battle, Jean Valjean ends up saving his life. The resolution to the story is when Marius and Cosette decide to get married. Jean Valjean then tells Marius his past as an ex-convict and makes him promise not to Cosette. Since he is afraid of being caught at the wedding, he misses the wedding using the illness he has as an excuse. Later, Marius is forced into a position where he has to tell Cosette her father檚 past. The two then hurry to the place where Jean Valjean is staying and find that he is dying. Jean Valjean then tells his past to both of them and dies in peace knowing his daughter will be alright with Marius.
I thought that the story because it showed how a person can find peace in their minds by changing their life and choosing to do good. Reading the life of Jean Valjean has showed me that. The story shows how the circumstances during the 1800s in France made it very difficult for people to overcome poverty. Im 20 so have my whole life ahead of me.
Im not religious so i dont worry about church.
My neighbours dont know, and i have moved into my own flat successfully.
I am aware of costs, and have saved half of the money for my op so far.
I dont see a councillor, just a specialist now and again to check how things are doing, and i am having the operation this December (2007), (having changed last November (2006).
I have lost friends, but kept some and gained new ones.
I still have my job, though i plan to get another as soon as i can, which wont be hard after i have had the operation, as most places dont want to employ someone who will be off work for 3 months at the end of the year.
